I had taken the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator several times before, but I’d never seen anything quite like this take on it by our friends at Blogthings (otherwise known as Blogger’s Block’s Best Friend) 😉

Weird, I also got INFP on both quizzes, even though I’m usually a pretty consistent INTJ. Some of those questions really do tend to throw me off, because I either value both options (such as the choice between reason versus emotion) or would rather answer something else entirely (like when determining whether I’d listen to someone in charge, it would really depend on whether they deserve the respect they appear to command).

So, sulz, you are the rarest of the rare! Figures, doesn’t it? I think these qualities do describe you. I think you are hardworking! You take all these challenging courses, and maintain your incredible blog, and answer questions on the fora with endless patience, and do many other things I’m not even aware of! You do seem to have a good balance between conformity and non-conformity, too.
Hi Deirdra–that is interesting, in light of the fact that you usually don’t get these results. The Blogthings quizzes are brief and may not be as accurate as the full-length test. I agree—there were times I wanted to choose both answers, or neither. Living an either/or life does not interest me! The Wikipedia article I linked to on Myers-Briggs states some researchers’ opinions that the original test is not very accurate, either, and people score differently at different times in their lives. I guess we can just look at the test as one tool in our toolbox.
CV, this just does sound SO like you! And you are the most non-conformist of us all! Does this mean you’re even freakier than me? I knew I liked you for a reason! 🙂

Hi Dove! I’ve noticed that WordPress puts comments into ‘moderation’ if they have more than two links in them—even from longtime friends and commenters such as yourself. All you did was leave in all three quiz links, which were already here on the post! 😕 Well, I found you and have resurrected you. Poof! There, you’re back.
You certainly are artistic, dove. I don’t see you quite as a “knitter”, either, but you are crafty. 😉 And you absolutely do deserve romantic gestures. I love how these quizzes say things to you like “you are incredibly strange” lol. Well, we oddballs have to hang together.
Rikard, that’s interesting that you’re another who usually tests differently on this. Well, you are obviously a gifted artist AND musician, which I can attest to, having experienced your skill in both areas. Are your talents dormant right now? They weren’t a little while ago. Wow, three quizzes, Muse? We’re spoilt for choice. 😉
That’s not a bad match; I’m usually an INTJ. I like the non conformist bit, but I’m not very good at judging… I have a good sense of individual character, but I’m useless at reading situations.
That’s a bit different to my definition of INTJs. I thought they’re known for a combination of imagination and reliability, which can lend itself as much to creativity as logic? Apart from that, though, it’s not a bad match.
Now that’s probably the most accurate one! My opinions are pretty strong and I like to see things differently… but I like to understand other viewpoints as well, that’s just as important.
Thanks, Muse – between yours and brightfeather’s blogs, I’m all quizzed out now! 😆 Interesting results, though, you learn a lot about yourself through these kinds of questions… some food for thought.

Well, teeveebee, perhaps it means that you can get along fine in life without all the over-analysing these tests encourage? 🙂
I know, ceej, three quizzes seem a bit excessive, but they all showed up and seemed to go together! What’s a blogger to do? 😉 So, your personality has either evolved or morphed into a new you, or the quiz, once again, must be called into question. I, at least, don’t see the aloof or stubborn qualities in you, but the scientist fits, both for writing sci-fi, and research for other projects. Your unconventionality seems just right. Are bloggers, in general, a bit off-beat, have we just gathered those kinds around us? 8)

I’m with Deirdra, some of the questions are almost impossible to answer! Would I be more likely to be called serious or sensitive? Both! Do I prefer abstract or realistic art? Both! However, despite the frustration with standardized tests, I came out with the same designation I always do: INFP–rare only 5%. And since I also like my steak rare I guess that works out well.
I’m also 73% nonconformist; a happy freak.
